From a seafood restaurant to a farm shop cafe to a food hall filled with world cuisine, there are plenty of new Sheffield venues that are well worth your time.

Rooftop bar Alto is a contemporary and relaxed venue which boasts an outdoor rooftop terrace, affording striking views across the city centre and beyond, as well as a VIP area, DJ booth, built-in seating areas and an impressive range of drinks, beers, cocktails and food. 6. ROFL Comedy Club on Devonshire Street in the city centre
ROFL is Sheffield's first ever purpose-built comedy club, and opened for the first time on May 21. They host "the finest stand up comedians from across the country and around the world, live on stage" every Friday and Saturday night. 8. The Furnace, Block D, Heart of the City II in Sheffield city centre
The Furnace opened within Sheffield’s flagship Heart of the City development on Monday, June 7, serving up a selection of Yorkshire inspired dishes from their opening menu. Designed by local chef Guy Greaves and team, the menu is said to pay “homage to the city it serves, pairing famed local products and dishes with cooking techniques inspired by the functions of a furnace – such as cooling, torching, flame-grilling and blowtorching.” Photo: Submit
