The Big Tree on Chesterfield road has seen a surge in bookings in the last few weeks and is close to being fully booked as they prepare to welcome football fans for a busy summer of live football.

Adam Chamberlain, general manager at The Big Tree, said: “We can’t wait to get fans back in the pub this summer as the Euros gets underway. Sport is at the heart of our pub, with six internal TV screens and an additional three screens in the beer garden, so we have amazing viewing ability in all areas.

An array of decorations have been placed outside the Greene King pub, with over 500 flags making up the impressive display ahead of the summer tournament.

Adam added: “We’re really looking forward to lifting community spirit and bringing everyone together, which is why we’ve gone all out by creating the best atmosphere outside of the stadium. Our staff will even be wearing England t-shirts on matchdays to show their support.

“Sheffield is home to the world’s first-ever football club, so it’s only right we took celebrations to the next level by creating the biggest and best flag display in the city… if not the country.”

The Wildcard Bar and Grill on Ecclesall Road is currently fully booked for England’s group stage fixtures, and bookings for other matches are also going quick.

Alix Mcfadd, sales and events manager at Wildcard, said: “We put out our advertisements for the Euros during the lockdown in February/March time, and they all filled up straight away. So we're fully booked for the three England group stage matches, and then we're pretty much fully booked for all the other ones. There are spaces here and there, but they go so quickly. If England gets through, we’re just going to book up from there.”

Speaking about the facilities at the bar, she said: “We've got the Jumbotron so pretty much every seat in the venue, you can see a screen from, and we've got the big bi-folding doors open at the moment in time, so if we've got good weather, it's nice to sit on the terrace area where you can feel a breeze outside, but you can also see a TV inside and hear the sound as well.”
