A 400-year-old Peak District pub has closed and is up for sale after the landlords retired.

The Queen Anne in Great Hucklow, which dates back to 1621, was run by Angela Ryan and Glyn Jewell for 19 years before they retired at the end of last month.

The popular boozer is now closed and for sale for £550,000, although Angela is still running the bed and breakfast side of the business.

The pair posted an emotional farewell on the pub’s Facebook page thanking staff for their hard work and customers for their support, laughter and memories.

Estate agents Christie & Co began marketing the pub in March for £650,000. It has since knocked £100,00 off the price.
