Ranging from great swimming pools to fantastic wildlife parks and theme parks, we have put together a gallery of pictures of some of the best known places where residents used to go back in the 80s and 90s.

Sheffield Traditional Heritage Museum opened in 1985, at 605 Ecclesall Road, was staffed entirely by volunteers and contained a variety of walk-through displays, including a replica kitchen from the 1920s and a variety of shops from Sheffield's past. But it closed in 2011, when the University of Sheffield, which owned the building housing the museum, said it could not afford the "very significant capital investment" needed to maintain it.
