According to NHS England, the city’s death toll now stands at 163.
A total of 16,272 patients have now died in hospitals in England, up 665 on yesterday’s figure.
South Yorkshire is on the brink of having 3,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with those updated figures due to be released later today.
As of yesterday there were 2,955 confirmed cases in the county.
Doncaster has recorded 64 coronavirus deaths – up one on yesterday.
There have been 71 patient deaths in Rotherham – an increase of seven on yesterday’s figure; and 53 deaths have been recorded in Barnsley, which is the same as yesterday.
The UK remains on lockdown in a bid to halt the spread of Covid-19.
