NHS England announced today that another 28 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 27,982.

The patients were aged between 59 and 100 years old and had known underlying health conditions.

There have been 281 deaths in Sheffield; 205 in Doncaster, 182 in Rotherham and 134 in Barnsley.

Rotherham’s death toll went up by two, but the others all remained the same.

Lockdown measures have been eased today, allowing non essential stores to reopen.

Queues have been reported on high streets across the country, with Sheffield city centre bustling again.

More pupils have been allowed back to school from today and it is now compulsory for anyone using public transport to wear face coverings.
