Sheffield's coronavirus death toll remains same despite hundreds more fatalities recorded in England

According to NHS England, the number of hospital patients to have died in the city remains at 234 – the same figure as yesterday.

Across England, another 350 hospital coronavirus deaths were confirmed today, taking the country’s death toll to 23,709.

In addition to hospital deaths in Sheffield, at least 126 people are known to have died with coronavirus at care homes in the city up to April 24, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.

There have been a total of 126 deaths in Doncaster, 131 in Rotherham and 105 in Barnsley.

Lockdown measures are due to be relaxed tomorrow, with more people due to go to work and people able to leave their homes for an unlimited amount of exercise.

People can also meet up with one other person from their household in outdoor public spaces, such as parks.
