Sheffield has ‘highest number of positive coronavirus tests in England per 100,000’, overtaking London
and live on Freeview channel 276
According to think tank Centre for Cities, Sheffield has 162 positive tests per 100,000 people in the city, closely followed by London, which has 158.
Liverpool has overtaken Birmingham in the past day, and has now the third-largest number of positive tests per 100,000 – 147 – and Hull has the lowest number of positive tests, with 33 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Hide AdAs of 9am on Friday, 73,758 people in the UK had tested positive for coronavirus, including 1,095 in Sheffield.
As of 5pm that same day, of those hospitalised in the UK 8,958 had died.
There have now been 80 coronavirus-related deaths in hospitals in Sheffield, according to NHS England.
A total of 36 people have died in Barnsley; Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Trust has now recorded 29 coronavirus deaths and 19 have died in Rotherham.
