According to NHS England, a total of 901 hospital patients have died in the county since the pandemic began.
There have been 302 deaths in Sheffield hospitals, 239 in Doncaster, 209 in Rotherham and 151 in Barnsley.
The figures do not include those who died in care homes or any other settings.

NHS England said today that nationally another 60 people have died since yesterday’s figures were released, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 30,439 so far.
The latest casualties were aged between 41 and 93 years old and all but five had known underlying health conditions.
