Figures released this afternoon show that Sheffield has 1,365 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 114 hospital patients have died – an increase of five on yesterday’s figures.

Care home deaths are not included in the figures.

Worldwide, two million people have contracted Covid-19 and 12,868 in the UK have died.

In Doncaster there are 210 confirmed cases and 41 deaths have been recorded – an increase of four on yesterday’s figures.

Barnsley has 379 confirmed cases and 46 patients have died – up one on yesterday.

Rotherham’s death toll remains the same as yesterday at 32 and so far 383 people have tested positive in the town.

The UK remains on lockdown in a bid to halt the spread of Covid-19.

People can only leave home for shopping, medical supplies or appointments, exercise and essential travel to work.
