The tragic number of Covid-19 deaths in every Sheffield neighbourhood since start of pandemic
and live on Freeview channel 276
From March 1 to April 17, 761 people died in Sheffield, with 164 of these confirmed to have passed away from covid-19.
But many experts believe the true impact of coronavirus is much higher, with the virus having knock-on effects on the way people use the health service and sometimes people dying having not been diagnosed.

The figures show wide variation between different areas of Sheffield, with more deprived areas seeing more coronavirus deaths than better-off districts.
The areas with the most covid-19 deaths include Crabtree and Fir Vale (18), Park Hill and Wybourn (8), Norton and Norton Lees (9) and Woodhouse Mill (9).
In Crabtree and Fir Vale and Park Hill and Wybourn, more than 50 per cent of all deaths were confirmed to have been caused by coronavirus.

UK wide data, however, shows Sheffield with a lower covid-19 death rate than other major cities.
33 people have died from coronavirus in Sheffield per 100,000 of population, compared to 60 in Manchester and 82 in Liverpool.
The worst-hit area of all is London, where around 5,000 have died since the epidemic began.
