Sheffield's coronavirus death toll rises as three more people die in South Yorkshire

Another patient has died with coronavirus in Sheffield, as 19 new deaths were recorded at hospitals across England.

A total of 286 people have now died at hospitals in Sheffield after testing positive for coronavirus, according to the latest figures published by NHS England on Monday, June 29.

There were two further hospital deaths in Rotherham, taking the total there to 195, but none in Doncaster or Barnsley, where the total now stands at 221 and 145 respectively.

Three more deaths were reported at hospitals in Wales and one in Northern Ireland, while Scotland reported no new fatalities for the fourth consecutive day.

Across England, there have now been 28,672 coronavirus deaths in hospitals, though this figure does not include deaths at other settings, including care homes.
