Before boxing took over his life, he was a keen singer/songwriter, and he recently returned to his old passion by teaming up with producer Zee Krayski to record an album he hopes to release later this year.

They have joined forces once again to record the charity single ‘COVID-19’, through which they hope to raise £10,000 to support the NHS heroes on the frontline of the battle against coronavirus.

Explaining how the song came about, Dominic explained: “I was sat at home one day strumming my guitar while watching the news and getting depressed, thinking ‘what’s the world coming to?’.

“There have been lots of satirical songs released online but I thought this is a monumental moment in history and I wanted to document what’s happening by writing a song.”

He wrote the lyrics and recorded them at the gym before Mr Krayski added the instrumental backing and Kell Brook’s nutritionist Greg Marriott contributed a rap with advice on how to prevent spreading the virus.

Dominic, whose sister Tara is a nurse and whose brother-in-law Philip Sahu and sister-in-law Maria Ingle also work for the NHS, has launched a JustGiving appeal for the NHS, which he said is doing an ‘amazing’ job.

Anyone who donates can contact Dominic for a link to the full song.

Although Dominic is unable to coach in person, he told how he is still drawing up training routines to keep his boxers fit and ready to fight again within a month of the restrictions being lifted.
