Sheffield art space and restaurant closes for deep clean after Covid-19 case

A Sheffield art space has been forced to close as a precautionary measure after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

In an announcement they posted on Facebook on Wednesday (June 16), Site Gallery said it will close its doors to customers until Friday.

The gallery on Brown Street in the Cultural Industries Quarter, is Sheffield’s contemporary art space, specialising in new media, moving image and performance.

A message posted on its Facebook site said: “Due to a staff member receiving a positive Covid-19 test result, Site Gallery and Kollective Kitchen have closed temporarily following government guidelines.

“We are deep cleaning the public areas and expect to re-open on Friday 18 June. Please check back before your visit for any further updates.”

Site Gallery exhibits work by nationally and internationally based artists, commissioned new work or UK premieres, of international standard as well as emergent talent. The programme maintains a balance between photography, installation, electronic media and film and video work.
