One new death recorded in Doncaster as coronavirus death toll hits 225
One new coronavirus death has been recorded in Doncaster, bringing the town’s total to 225.
It is the first death recorded in Doncaster for several days, with the figure remaining at 224 for much of last week.
The latest death was reported in the last 24 hours, newly released NHS England figures show.
Last week, national figures suggested Doncaster may be subject to a localised lockdown after a reported spike in cases.

But Dr Rupert Suckling, Doncaster’s Director of Public Health allayed concerns over the number of cases but urged people to be vigilant and to follow social distancing and hygiene rules.
He said the spike was down to a number of care home cases in the town and that infection levels were nowhere near levels needed for a localised lockdown.
His warning came ahead of this weekend’s re-opening of pubs, with drinkers urged to act responsibly to ensure there is no second wave of coronavirus.
Many pubs across Doncaster opened their doors for the first time since March yesterday, but there were also plenty of bars that remained closed.
Initial reports suggest that drinkers in Doncaster were largely well-behaved with pubs staying relatively quiet.
PM Boris Johnson pleaded with revellers to be 'sensible' and to 'enjoy summer'.
Locally, 146 people have died in Barnsley, 194 in Rotherham and 286 in Sheffield, all the same figures as yesterday.
The UK death toll now stands at 44,198.
Globally, the World Health Organisation said there had been 212,000 across the world in the last 24 hours.
