Residents living in Sandstone Close, Wincobank, Sheffield have been seen dancing ‘as safely as possible’ on the street during lockdown.

On April 5th, a video surfaced showing residents of Sandstone Close in Sheffield holding a social distancing party across the street. The party was inspired by a DJ living on the road in an effort to lift the spirits of all the locals.

DJ, David Hector, said: “Ever since the social distancing began, I could see everyone across the street getting more bored each day. I decided to send letters to each house and send text messages asking people if they would mind me playing a bit of music, which nobody did.

“I set the speakers up and started playing music across the street. From that point, people started sending in song requests and dancing in their gardens and on the road. They all kept their distances and ultimately it brought everyone together.”
