A member of staff at The Golden Plover on Spa View Rd, posted a message on Facebook yesterday (Sunday, August 9), warning customers about their positive diagnosis but reassuring punters that the pub would remain ‘open as usual’.
The pub worker said they had been in touch with everybody who visited the premises on Thursday and logged their details via the the Track and Trace system.

"Today I’ve received my results for Covid-19 and they have come back positive.
“I wasn’t in work Tuesday or Wednesday so I’ve been in touch with everyone on Track and Trace who signed in Thursday.
“Hopefully you will all be safe.”
Despite the infected worker claiming to have contacted punters, one customer alleged they had not heard anything from the pub.

"I left my phone number.”
The worker who tested positive for Covid-19 claimed The Golden Plover had been cleaned and sterilised since they received the news.
Another person expressed their confusion: “I don’t understand how pub can remain open thought everyone had to self isolate for 14 days who had been in contact with an infected person.”
The Golden Plover were contacted for comment.
