Sheffield primary school teacher leaves touching message for her pupils tied to lamppost

A heart shaped message has been tied to a lamppost outside a Sheffield school today to let pupils know they are missed during the coronavirus outbreak.

Signed by a ‘Mrs Williams’, who is believed to be a Year 5 teacher at Hartley Brook Primary Academy in Shiregreen, the message says: “I hope you are all staying safe and healthy as well as being helpful and kind at home.

"I miss you all and I’m looking forward to seeing you again in school when we can safely return.

“Stay safe, be good x.”

Anthony Cunningham, who spotted the message, posted on Twitter: “Just seen two women putting these on a lamppost, so as you do have a little nosey and I’m guessing they work at the school and just showing they’re still thinking about the children.”
