Pupils and teachers sent home after Covid-19 case at another Sheffield school
Pupils and teachers have been sent home to self-isolate after a Covid-19 case at another Sheffield school.
Hillsborough Primary School has announced a confirmed case of the virus in Year 5 ‘bubble’.
In a letter to parents and carers on Friday, the school said that Year 5 pupils and some members of staff were sent home after the case was confirmed.

Enhanced cleaning also took place.
Angela Lant, primary director of Tapton School Academy Trust, which runs Hillsborough Primary School, said: “We have been notified that there has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the Year 5 bubble.
“We have strictly followed advice directly from Public Health Sheffield. This includes sending home the children in the Year 5 bubble, sending the relevant staff home and enhanced cleaning of surfaces.
“No further action is required and school remains safe for all other pupils. If you have not been contacted directly, then your child can continue their normal activities.
“The school operates with year group bubbles and these bubbles are separated throughout the school. This limits the chances of children from other bubbles coming into contact with one another.
“Social, protective bubbles, are a way of enabling us to isolate and reduce virus transmission if a case is identified at any time.”
Chaucer School, which is also run by Tapton School Academy Trust, also had a confirmed Covid-19 case this week.
Children only returned to school this week after coronavirus closures ordered in March to try to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
