Sheffield-based security systems firm, Synectics, has announced that it has secured a £1.4m contract to provide on-vehicle surveillance technology for 220 new buses being introduced by a UK regional authority.
According to The Yorkshire Post, the Sheffield-based firm said the contracts cover the supply of a combination of advanced camera technology, digital mirror systems and on-vehicle video surveillance across the new fleet.

The deal comes through Synectic’s systems integration business, Ocular.

Amanda Larnder, chief executive officer of Synectics, said: "This award demonstrates the growing demand for Ocular's on-vehicle solutions and represents an important win as we continue to grow our position in the on-vehicle transport market.”
The new fleet is due to go into service this autumn.
