A South Yorkshire entertainer and magician has conjured up a new way to entertain his fans during the latest lockdown by delivering parties online using digital platforms.

Former social worker Lee Bingham, performing as Lee Bo, appeared at social events before the pandemic.

After receiving kickstart funding from UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE), Lee has invested in his website, marketing and promotional strategies.

Lee said: “I was just getting going when the pandemic hit, so it’s forced me to rethink how I manage the business and restructure my whole act.

“I’ve been doing a lot more Zoom parties, which has surprisingly been a great tool for performing close-up magic.

"Fortunately, a lot of clients have looked to rearrange their bookings for later this year and next year.

“My ambition over the next 12 months is to keep growing, whether that be over Zoom or through in-person gigs. I hope to become a full-time entertainer and I’m optimistic about what the future holds.”

As well as performing, Lee has attended several corporate events as a guest speaker, delivering talks on the psychology behind magic.

Alan Stanley at UKSE said: “It’s good to see Lee expand his entertainment business and grow during what has been an exceptionally difficult time for everyone, including for entrepreneurs.

“I wish him well going forward.”

UKSE also provides loan and equity finance of up to £1m to existing companies which are growing, particularly those creating jobs – for further information contact the team on 0800 915 1188.
