'Gutted': Popular Sheffield United themed café put up for sale
Sheffield United themed café up for sale
The heartbroken owners of a café next to Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground have announced they are putting the business up for sale.
Chef United Café and Bar, based in S2, is directly opposite the Blades’ historic home.

The owners say they are ‘gutted’ to part ways with the business, but must now focus on their original construction business, and spending time with family.
Announcing the news on social media, they say the decision had not been taken lightly.
They wrote: “It’s with a heavy heart that we’re putting Chef United café and bar up for sale.
“This really isn’t a decision we’ve taken lightly, and to say we’re absolutely gutted would be an understatement.”
The owners explained that their construction business had become increasingly busy since they took on the café, making it difficult to manage both businesses while maintaining a work-life balance.
They said: “As many of you know, we already run a well-established construction business, which was extremely busy before we took on the café.
“Since then, our workload has gone through the roof, and trying to juggle the construction business, the café and bar, and most importantly, spending quality time with our families has unfortunately become too much.
“We’ve put so much time, effort and money into Chef United, and we’re genuinely sad to be making this decision. But as much as we love the place, we have to put our families first.”
Despite the decision to sell, the owners said the business presented an opportunity for someone looking to take over an established café and bar.
They added that its location close to Sheffield United's football ground offered potential for a new owner, particularly on matchdays.
The owners also thanked customers and Blades supporters who had visited the venue and supported the business.
They wrote: “We’d also like to say a massive thank you to every single customer who has supported us - your support has genuinely meant the world to us.
“We’re really sorry that we’re having to sell, but sometimes you have to make difficult decisions, and for us, having more time with our children and families has to come first.
“We’d absolutely love to see someone take Chef United forward and make a real success of it.”
Chef United Café & Bar is being offered for £22,500, or nearest offer.
The owners are inviting serious enquiries from potential buyers, with further information and viewings available by private message.
