He also fronts local podcasts, including beer show Sheffield Hopcast and football podcast Singing The Blues.

The team includes freelance editor Ellie Codling, who has more than 15 years of radio experience, and designer George Lodwick, who produces graphics.

In total, Sound Media has four decades of professional broadcast experience in its ranks, James said.

He added: “I really wanted to create something that laid bare our broadcast credentials. When I say we know audio inside out, I really mean in. I did my first radio show when I was 14. Audio is genuinely all I’ve really known.

“Sheffield and the wider area has a huge variety of amazing businesses and great people, and so many of them would benefit from having a podcast. But I know it’s daunting and there are so many hurdles to overcome.

“That’s really what Sound Media is here to do. We can guide anyone through the initial stages of finding the right idea for them.

“I’ve been doing this with clients for the last 18 months and so creating Sound Media is a logical next step.”
