Applications for Sheffield City Council’s Outdoor Hospitality Grant will open on Tuesday 18 May and apply to those businesses already open for outdoor hospitality and for businesses planning to open outdoor spaces, but have not yet done so.

Businesses must be from the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, and entertainment sectors and be able to demonstrate an outdoor hospitality offer.

The money will be given out on a first come, first served basis, with no mention of the total pot of cash available from Sheffield City Council. Owners have been encouraged to apply early for payments of between £1,000 and £3,000, which will be awarded to cover either 100 per cent of costs or to part-fund larger costs up to a maximum total spend of £20,000.

Outdoor seating on Division Street.

The spend must be completed by 21 June and there is a limit of one grant per premises and a maximum of three premises per business.

Applications for funding must be made for specific items, such as the following:

Shelters and gazebos

Tables and chairs

Decking and platforms

Marquees (purchase or hire)

Payment terminals

Lighting and costs associated with the installation of eligible items

Heaters, licenses, legal fees, and wage costs are not eligible for funding.

Evidence, including invoices or valid quotes, must also be submitted as part of an application.
