New Sheffield firm Oyster Self Storage is aimed at personal and business users
A Sheffield factory site is being brought to fresh life with the launch of a new city-based self storage business.
Oyster Self Storage - launched by businessman Jeremy Martin - is based in the 100-year-old former industrial building at Keeton’s Hill, off London Road.
After an extensive refurbishment, the site now houses 47 self-storage units in 3,000 square feet of space - with plans already in place for expansion as the business grows.
“We believe that there is a real need for a more bespoke approach to self storage and that Oyster will be able to deliver a much more personalised level of service,” said Jeremy.
“We also believe that this historic site, close to both business and residential areas, is the ideal location for all types of customers, situated as it is so close to the inner ring road.”
Oyster is offering 47 fully secure units from 10 sq ft to 200 sq ft, with on-site staff to provide full support.
“We are perfectly situated for the student market, providing small, cost-effective solutions to storage between terms, with special student rates for both Sheffield and Hallam Universities,” Jeremy said.
“The range of unit sizes also makes us ideal for people wanting to place items in storage as part of downsizing, as part of the house move chain or even for simply storing garden furniture or sports equipment out of season.
“It’s really like having your own spare room or garage - you can pop in and out when you want, using your personal access fob during opening hours, knowing that everything is totally safe and secure.”
But with much bigger units also available, Oyster will also meet the needs of the business community.
“Oyster offers secure self-storage units for merchandise, palletised goods, office furniture, eBay stocks, archiving, warehousing and office moves,” said Jeremy
“We offer you the space you need without complicated leases and there’s the bonus of no business rates to pay.”
An on-site shop will supply boxes, padlocks and packing materials and assistance with unloading and storing while a delivery and collection service will also be available.
“The cost of the unit depends entirely on the size so you pay only for the space you need,” said Jeremy.
“There is also plenty of room for growth, meaning clients do not need to worry about running out of space.
“And the fact that we are so centrally and conveniently located, with plenty of customer parking and a drive-in loading and unloading area, provides the perfect solution to all your storage requirements.”
Oyster Self Storage is a member of the UK Self Storage Association and the Federation of European Self Storage Associations.
