John Lewis closing LIVE: Shock in Sheffield as historic store set to close with 299 jobs at risk
Sheffield’s high street was dealt yet another blow today when it was announced that the John Lewis in the city centre would close.
This comes as the retail giant attempts to weather the storm of the ongoing impact of the pandemic.
Earlier this month the company warned it had not ruled out shutting its Sheffield store - despite the city council paying it more than £3.4m to stay open - after it fell to a £517m loss.
