The boss of a new beauty salon said foot spas, filing and moisturising were popular with men in Leeds – and he hoped they would be in Sheffield too.

Alex Stuart said Star Nails, which opens on Fargate in December, would include a range of foot treatments for men because ‘quite a lot of men have issues with their feet’. He said he had several salons in West Yorkshire, including Leeds, where the services were already popular.

He added: “Quite a lot of men come in for things like foot spas, filing dead skin and moisturising, especially those who are on their feet all day and suffer from wear and tear.”

As well as nail painting and foot spas, it will offer pedicures, manicures, acrylic and gel nails and beauty products. Some eight jobs will be created. Star Nails is set to open at Number 9 Fargate, next to Chapel Walk, after refurbishment. The building has been empty since 2018 and is fire-damaged.
