The Royal Standard, on St Mary’s Road, is listed on Rightmove, with the sales brochure stating there is ‘alternative use potential’ subject to planning permission being granted.

The pub is currently closed due to the Tier 3 coronavirus restrictions in place but according to its Facebook page had only recently gone under new management, with new decor in place.

The freehold of the pub, which is a five-minute walk from the railway station and has a projector screen for showing football matches, is available.

The two-storey property includes private accommodation on the first floor, where there are four bedrooms.

It is not known whether the venue’s sale is related to the coronavirus pandemic, with fans having been banned at Bramall Lane since professional football resumed in England.

The Star has attempted to contact the owners but has yet to receive a response.
