Pub owner rages at no-shows who book tables and then don't turn up

Despite huge enthusiasm for pubs re-opening, and a dose of sunshine across much of the country, at least one Sheffield bar owner was left fuming and out of pocket as customers left her business in the lurch.

Hide Ad“Obviously I shouldn't have bragged about being full yesterday. Ridiculous amount of no-shows from last minute bookings (so no deposit).
“Apparently, it’s similar in some other bars in town. So where did you all go to ?
“Must have been somewhere without a phone signal. Is the decency of a phone call too much to ask?”
Debbie’s post drew a sympathetic response from followers in the industry on social media.

Its completely not fair at all ... its been a hard slog for the last year or so for many businesses and we don’t need it making harder by no shows. I feel your pain.”
A third said: “This is happening so much. Charge a deposit, it's not fair on business's already struggling.”

Hide AdWhen we contacted Trippets for a comment today Debbie was extremely busy serving customers so let’s hope the setback was only temporary, she recoups her losses and customers show more consideration in future.
