Postcode Lottery Sheffield: Lucky streak continues as four streets bag huge cash prize in June
Sheffield's run of Postcode Lottery fortune has continued
Sheffield continued its hot streak in the Postcode Lottery by welcoming yet another winner earlier this week.
The postcode S5 7AX was drawn on Tuesday June 23, meaning residents on Herries Road, within the Firth Park ward, became £1,000 richer as a result of their door being in the draw.
The latest win takes Sheffield’s tally of winners to four for the month in what has been an excellent start to the summer period for a few households in the Steel City.
Earlier this month on June 1 S9 4GT on Greenwood Road in Darnall bagged £1,000 and 10 days later S26 6UY in the Kiveton Park Station followed suit by winning the same amount. And the hot streak continued for the Steel City just two days later when S2 1UE within the Manor Castle area enjoyed good fortune by also winning £1,000 each.
So far, as many as four areas in Sheffield have experienced the feeling of victory in the Postcode Lottery.
This is slightly lower than in May when six streets bagged £1,000, although they weren’t quite as lucky as one lucky resident on Mill Lane in Old Tupton, Chesterfield, who struck the jackpot by winning an incredible £333,333.
Postcode Lottery is a subscription-based lottery which raises money for charities. Not only do players win cash prizes, but good causes also receive essential support.
Your postcode works as your ticket. For £12.50 a month you’re entered into every prize draw and there are guaranteed winners every day. People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.
Prizes include the weekly Millionaire Street prize and monthly £250,000 or Postcode Millions prizes. If your postcode gets picked in the £250,000 prize, for example, every ticket in that postcode wins £250,000. Every day, there are £1,000 prizes to be won for every ticket in 20 postcodes. If you play with two tickets, you receive double the winning prize amount.
Players have raised more than £1.8 billion for thousands of good causes in Britain and internationally, funding charities including Maggie's, Alzheimer’s Society, Dogs Trust, Mind, NSPCC and many others, as well as thousands of small local community projects.
