Milestone for multi-million pound Marks & Spencer food hall at Sheffield retail park
“This is a project our shoppers have been excited about since the planning stage”
A multi-million pound Marks & Spencer Foodhall at a Sheffield retail park has reached a construction milestone ahead of it opening in autumn.
Steelwork is rising on site next to Costa at Fox Valley shopping centre in Stocksbridge.
The shop is set to have a bakery, flower and wine shops and be a major hub for shoppers collecting or returning items bought online, developers say.

It is also set to create 60 jobs.
James Shepherd, managing director of Dransfield Properties, which owns Fox Valley, said: “Seeing the steelwork going up is a real milestone for the team and for the community.
“This is a project our shoppers have been excited about since the planning stage, and it’s wonderful to see the store taking shape.
“The new M&S Foodhall will be a major addition to Fox Valley as we continue to invest in the centre. We’re looking forward to welcoming the team from M&S and opening the doors this autumn.”

Planning permission was granted in January, with construction starting in spring.
Local MP Marie Tidball supported the application.

When it was granted she wrote: “Fabulous news to start 2026. We’re getting ‘Our M&S’ in Fox Valley!”
In the last 12 months the retail park has seen the launch of a Gallery furniture shop and The Wellness Space medi‑spa. It is also home to Home Bargains, Iceland and Aldi.
This month also marks the tenth anniversary of Fox Valley, which was launched by Dame Joanna Lumley OBE.
