Many, especially small firms, may try to go the long way round so as not to cross the boundary. Whatever happens it will be a huge, city-wide shock set to create a new network of rat runs.
Here's a helpful list of last-second turns for those determined to swerve the dreaded CAZ when it comes in on Monday, February 27.
Initially, it is forecast to catch about 2,000 drivers and rake in £23,000 every day, or £8.46m-a-year. These vehicles will be charged: 'polluting' heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), light goods vehicles (LGVs), vans, buses, coaches and taxis. Private cars and motorbikes will not be charged. The council was given £24m to help firms buy newer vehicles, or convert old ones to electric. Details here.

9. Bramall Lane
Approaching on Bramall Lane, you have the option of going all the way around St Mary’s roundabout and back out the same way. Or you could hang a left into Sheldon Street. Photo: .

10. Shoreham Street
Coming down Shoreham Street, you want the last left, on to Margaret Street, to avoid the boundary on the inner ring road. Photo: .

11. Penistone Road
Driving along Penistone Road toward the city centre don't miss the left turn into Rutland Road. You can turn left into left into Cornish Street in Kelham Island - but you can't get out without entering the CAZ. Photo: .

12. Bernard Road
Bernard Road, coming from Attercliffe and past the incinerator, is likely to be very popular when the CAZ comes in because it actually gets you to several non-chargeable places. Turn left on to Cricket Inn Road or carry on along Bernard Street. Just don’t turn right down Broad Street. Photo: .
