This is why your TV may have stopped working in Sheffield over the weekend

Hundreds of homes in Sheffield are believed to have been affected when a TV transmitter stopped working over the weekend.

The Tapton Hill transmitting station was down for more than two hours on Saturday night, leaving many viewers unable to access Freeview channels.

According to the BBC, its Freeview channels were off the air from 9.44am to 11.47am that evening, and again briefly from 12.21am to 12.28am the following morning.

The transmitter appears to be working as normal this morning.
