Every school aspires to be in Ofsted’s ‘Good’ graces and after putting in the work and these are reaping the rewards.

These are the Sheffield schools that, in the past year, have shaken off an unflattering grade from the education watchdog and earned themselves a higher rating. Some have put in the effort to go from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ – while others have climbed out of outright ‘Inadequate’. Sadly, there haven’t yet been any schools to make the climb from Good to ‘Outstanding’ this year.

It’s something to consider as the deadline approaches for parents to apply for their children’s places at primary schools in the new academic year. Households have until January 31, to register their ‘preferred three choices’ with Sheffield City Council.
