Why our Chesterfield FC fan writer is relieved after draw at Dover Athletic

Should we finish the football season now or wait until summer?
How will titles and relegations be decided? Duckworth-Lewis method anyone?
There are so many unanswered questions at the moment.

The main thing is if the season was to stop now Chesterfield are not in the relegation zone which is a relief so whichever way you cut the cake we can’t get relegated right now.
I would have been happy with a point before Saturday’s game but it is one of those matches where it feels a bit like a loss after the final result after we conceded a late equaliser.
The same thing happened as it did against Chorley with the defence switching off when the game should have been seen out.

Hide AdI am not used to seeing Chesterfield go in front so I get the jitters watching them try to see a game out.
Looking at the table though things are brighter than they have been in months.
We are up to 44 points and in most seasons only six more to the magic 50 points needed to stay up.
