David Webb has been appointed as referee for Chesterfield’s vital League One game against Oxford United on Saturday.

The two clubs have both been relatively well behaved in League One action so far this season.

Chesterfield have been shown 49 yellow cards and one red.

The U’s have earned 61 cautions and one dismissal.

Webb has dished out 27 yellow cards in 12 League One fixtures this season.

The County Durham official has only flashed his red card once this season in his 80 matches, dismissing Accrington’s Elliot Parish in an EFL Cup game against Bradford City.

He has refereed Chesterfield 11 times in his career, the Spireites winning two of those and earning 15 yellow cards and one red.

Nine of those games have been home fixtures.

The last time he took charge of a Town game was the final outing of last season when they lost 2-0 at Bradford City and had Sam Hird sent off.

Oxford United have won two of their seven games Webb has officiated and he has sent off two of their players in that time.
