A fire at a business in Hillsborough has caused major traffic disruption.
The A61 Penistone Road was closed northbound between Leppings Lane and Fox Hill Road, near Wadsley Bridge, as firefighters tackled an electrical blaze.
The road reopened at around 1pm but police warned drivers to expect delays in the area for some time.
Police were called by South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue at around 11am to what officers said was a fire caused by an electrical fault at a commercial premises.
It is believed to be the Carphone Warehouse building which caught fire.
Drivers took to social media to report 'horrendous' traffic in the area, with talk of cars backed up to Shalesmoor, and jams on road in the Kelham area.
Stagecoach said traffic diversions were affecting its services to and from Middlewood.
The disruption could affect football fans heading to Hillsborough for Sheffield Wednesday's match against Preston at 3pm.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue tweeted at 12.15pm to say the fire was 'under control'.
