Cricket bat-wielding robber raids supermarket in Manor Top, Sheffield

A robber armed with a cricket bat struck at a Sheffield grocery store, making off with a large sum of cash, police have said.

A member of staff was injured during the raid at Jack Fultons supermarket in Ridgeway Road, Manor Top, yesterday afternoon.

Police said a man had entered the store at around 4.30pm armed with a bat and threatened an employee, who sustained minor injuries, before making off with a 'large quantity' of cash.

The robber is described as a white man who was wearing a blue and white jacket and a woolly hat, and was holding a carrier bag.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery or was in the area at the time is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 814 of December 4.
