Not listening to the will of the people

Congratulations to Sarah Vause and Sarah Marsh, two local residents in Mosborough and Eckington, who organised the large anti-fracking march on February 25, (Eckington anti-fracking march organisers hail event a success).

Most of the rest of the world is doing this, for both economic and environmental reasons. It is the future while fossil fuels, like coal, oil and gas, are the past.

On the same day I joined a national demonstration at Preston New Road, Lancashire, showing the strong continuing opposition to shale gas drilling there.

Fracking was imposed on the county by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Sajid Javid, overruling local council decision making.
