A Derbyshire bakery is busy baking up a storm in the run up to Easter.

Gunstones Bakery, based in Dronfield, are baking around 250,000 hot cross buns a day for Marks & Spencer to cope with the seasonal demand.

Bakers at the firm use a staggering 30 tonnes of flour and 20 tonnes of fruit every day.

Gunstones have also launched a new range of flavours including berries and cherries, golden syrup and ginger and, of course, chocolate!

Bakery production manager Richard Johnson said: “If you were to lay our hot cross buns we make for the Easter period from end to end, we’d go from Sheffield all the way to Nazareth.”
