Motorists are being urged to remove valuables from their vehicles following a spate of break-ins.

This week tools were stolen from a van in White Lane, Gleadless, after a window was smashed and from a van in Westland Road, Westfield.

Another van in Ballifield Road, Handsworth, was raided for the tools left inside along with a vehicle in Richmond Avenue, Richmond.

Property was also taken from a vehicle parked in Jaunty Crescent, Gleadless Townend.

South Yorkshire Police said there were attempted break-ins of vans parked in Rainbow Drive, Hackenthorpe and in Birley Moor Road, Frecheville.
