Hospice design wins national award for local architects

The designer of the new St Luke's Hospice In-Patient Centre has won a major award.

Sheffield-based Race Cottom Architects was recognised as the Best Internal Environment Winner at the recent 18th annual Building Better Healthcare Awards, which celebrates the best in British healthcare.

The awards celebrate innovation and improvement in the built environment and best practise in the delivery of facilities management services, with 190 entries across 26 categories.

St Luke’s chief executive, Peter Hartland, said: “We are delighted that Race Cottam has won this industry award, giving national recognition to this special project which was truly a joint achievement by them and the St Luke’s team, particularly the fantastic interior design.”
