Gunshot victim stable in hospital after attack in Sheffield

A man shot in his chest in a Sheffield street remains stable in hospital today.

Cameron Spalding, aged 25, was shot in Butterthwaite Road, Shiregreen, on Monday, February 13 and was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.

He remains in hospital today, with detectives still trying to track down his attacker.

Two men were seen pointing a gun at Mr Spalding before the weapon was fired.

One man who witnessed the shooting said he heard the sound of gunfire, looked out of his window and saw two men with a gun aimed at Mr Spalding.

He then saw the gun being fired twice before the culprits ran off and jumped into a car parked nearby.

A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.
