The former Chapeltown Baths building could soon be knocked down.

A company called Resilenti has submitted plans to knock down the building in Burncross Road.

The firm has already put plans in for a mixed use development of apartments and shops on the site.

Ecclesfield Parish Council owns the land and is listed on both applications, but a letter from clerk David Morton makes clear that the plans come from Resilenti.

The leisure centre closed in February after 55 years serving the Chapeltown community.

The mixed use application does not include many details and four objections from the public have already been submitted. The parish council has suggested the development should be more in keeping within a residential area than the current structure.
