A serial thief has been banned from a Boots store after he stole hundreds of pounds worth of cosmetics.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court, sitting at the crown court, heard on December 4 how Daniel Malbon, aged 37, of Convent Walk in the city centre, struck at the shop on West Street four times.

Rob Coyne, prosecuting, said Malbon was ‘acting with others.’He pleaded guilty to the the four thefts which happened in August and December.Andrew Dalrymple, defending, said Malbon’s record includes thefts but he has stability now with secured accommodation and Universal Credit benefits.The court heard Malbon has tested negative for drugs despite years of drug misuse.District Judge Naomi Redhouse sentenced Malbon to a 12 month community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement and a ban from Boots on West Street.He must pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
