A 30-year-old man has died after a double shooting in Sheffield last night.

Police were called at around 9.40pm to reports of shots fired on Clough Road, close to Bramall Lane, and discovered a man with “life-threatening injuries consistent with firearms discharge.”

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second 31-year-old man suffered minor injuries consistent with firearms discharge and was taken to hospital.

A huge cordon remains in place around St Mary's Gate this morning. A police tent and screen has been erected along a footpath next to the sports court adjacent to St Mary’s Church.

Both Kent Road and Nicholson Road in nearby Heeley have also been sealed off following a police chase early this morning.

The incidents are not connected, South Yorkshire Police has told The Star.
