A Rotherham man has been arrested after £3,000 worth of suspected cocaine was discovered during an intelligence-led drugs raid.

Officers recovered 60 ‘wraps’ from an address on Raven Drive in Thorpe Hesley on Friday (August 21) after receiving a tip-off about drug-dealing in the area.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Detective Inspector Scott Szymczak said: “My team constantly look for opportunities to disrupt organised crime across Rotherham, particularly around the distribution of drugs which often has links to violent crime.

“Residents across the town continuously tell us that they want to see us taking action to tackle drugs, and I would like to assure people that we do act on any information passed to us.

"On this occasion, a quantity of suspected class A with an estimated street value of £3,000 has been taken off our streets which is an excellent result.”
