A police cordon is reportedly in place on a road in Sheffield this evening.

Residents in Arbourthorne said part of Eastern Avenue in Arbourthorne had been taped off by officers.

One woman said there were ‘lots of police’ at the scene and a house had been cordoned off.

A man said at around 10.30pm that Eastern Avenue had been taped off between Northern Avenue and Algar Road, with a number of police cars in place.

The Star has contacted South Yorkshire Police and is waiting for a response.
