Hunt for killer continues one week after fatal stabbing in Sheffield

Albanian national Armend Xhika was stabbed when violence flared on the streets of Sheffield last Thursday night.
The 22-year-old, believed to have been an illegal immigrant, was injured when fights broke out on Earl Marshal Road, Fir Vale and Kirton Road, Pitsmoor, a short time later.

Hide AdArmend, who lived on Kirton Road, was taken to A&E at the Northern General Hospital in a car which then drove off while medics battled to revive him.
Open heart surgery was performed in the hope of saving the young man’s life but he passed away, triggering a murder probe.
Five arrests have been made so far as part of the investigation into the murder.
Two men in their 30s and a man in his 20s, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, have been released without charge along with a man in his 20s who was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and a woman in her 20s arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Hide AdSouth Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish what led to the disorder and who exactly was involved. We continue to appeal for information.
“The five arrested have now been released pending no further action.”
Another man was also taken to hospital with knife wounds on the night of the murder and was still receiving medical treatment yesterday.
