A main road is closed in a Doncaster village, following a 'serious' road traffic collision.

The accident occurred on Askern Road, Bentley earlier this morning.

A spokesman for First Buses said the road is currently closed, and its Bentley services are being diverted as a result.

They said: "The 66 services are being disrupted, due to a serious road traffic collision Askern road is currently closed.

"Bond street – 205 service has had to divert early, this is likely to cause some delay to the service.

"66 Bentley service is operating via the Avenue and the Avenue turning circle in both directions."
